【Saitama】Kawagoe Koedo and Crayon Shin-chan Kasukabe One-Day Tour

◎Visit the 2,400-year-old Hikawa Shrine, a sacred site for matchmaking, and enjoy the magnificent seasonal flower fields (cherry blossoms, canola flowers, spider lilies, etc.) at Gongendo Park.

Tour Details

Hotel pick-up/drop-off service within Tokyo (Shinjuku, Chiyoda, Chuo, and Taito districts), or meet at a designated location.

Hikawa Shrine (90-minute stay / Special gift: Hikawa Shrine Omamori/Amulet)
Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine has a history of over 2,400 years and is known as one of the "Three Great Hikawa Shrines of Kanto." The shrine enshrines the gods of marriage and family and has been worshipped as the "God of Matchmaking" since ancient times. It is believed that the blessings for a couple's happiness will extend to those around them, including parents and children.

Strolling along the Sando (Approach)
The Sando path to Hikawa Shrine is about 2 km long, covered by tall greenery, and is one of the longest shrine approaches in Japan. Lined with pine and cypress trees, it is a quiet environment perfect for a stroll.
• Experience the peaceful natural beauty, especially the cherry blossoms in spring.
• Take photos along the way, capturing the Torii gate and the lush greenery.

Main Hall (Honden) Prayer (Prayer fee not included, approx. 5,000 JPY)
The Main Hall is grand and majestic, featuring traditional shrine architecture with a rich historical atmosphere.
• Prayer Procedure:
• Purification Ritual: Wash your hands at the Temizuya to experience Shinto etiquette.
• Formal Prayer: Bow, clap, and pray in front of the Main Hall for health, peace, or love.
• Ema Votive Tablet: Write your wishes on an Ema and hang it in the designated area (Ema often feature Hikawa Shrine’s iconic patterns, great for souvenirs).

Special Photo Spots
• Kagami-ike (Mirror Pond): A tranquil pond reflecting the shrine buildings. In spring, cherry blossoms by the pond create a stunning view.
• Wind Chime Corridor (Summer limited: July 6 – Sept 8, Reiwa 6): In summer, the shrine is decorated with colorful wind chimes, creating a romantic atmosphere.
• Great Torii: The massive Torii gate is a landmark of the shrine, perfect for photos.

▼Kawagoe Koedo (120 minutes free time, including lunch)

Kawagoe: "Travel back" 400 years to the Edo period and experience a dreamlike sense of time travel. While there are many "Little Kyotos" in the world, there is only one "Little Edo"—Kawagoe. Highly prosperous during the Edo period, it earned the nickname "Koedo." The area features not only Edo-style charm but also Western-style buildings with Taisho-era romance and Showa-style alleys. Kawagoe is also a filming location for the anime Tsuki ga Kirei, attracting many fans for "holy land pilgrimages."

[Kurazukuri Street (Old Warehouse District)]
Kawagoe flourished as a castle town of the Kawagoe Domain during the Edo period. The city preserves many historic streets and temples from that era. It is famous for its "Kura" (warehouse) buildings made of black clay bricks and tiles. The entire district is designated as an "Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings."

[Toki no Kane (Bell of Time)]
The landmark of Kawagoe. Legend says the bell tower was first built 400 years ago by the Lord of Kawagoe. Though destroyed several times, the current tower is the fourth generation. Despite being modernized with a mechanical ringer, it faithfully announces the time every day.

[Kawagoe Festival Museum] (Entrance fee of 300 JPY not included)
Displays the history of the Kawagoe Festival and float models, allowing visitors to experience local traditional festival culture.

Recommended Food:

Kawagoe Purple Sweet Potato Series
Purple sweet potato soft-serve ice cream, sweet potato cakes, and pudding.

Kawagoe Unagi (Grilled Eel)
A traditional local delicacy using fresh eel, special sauce, and fluffy rice.
• Recommended Shops:
• Ichirikiya: Offers classic eel sets.
• Kawagoe Unagi-ya: An established shop famous for its secret sauce.

Wagashi (Traditional Japanese Sweets)
• Recommendations: Daifuku, Dango, and Senbei (rice crackers) can be found in Kashiya Yokocho (Candy Alley). Hand-grilled soy sauce crackers are also a must-buy snack.

Gongendo Park (Gongendo Tsutsumi) (30-minute stay)

A famous spot known for the stunning combination of cherry blossoms and canola flowers (nanohana), especially during the spring bloom, hailed as one of Japan's most beautiful floral landscapes.

Late March – Mid-April: Cherry blossoms (Sakura)

At other times, the visit changes to free time for strolling or cycling along the Nakagawa River embankment.

Kasukabe (120 minutes free time)

Kasukabe City is the hometown of Yoshito Usui, the creator of Crayon Shin-chan, and many scenes in the series are based on this location. The entire city is filled with childlike charm and animation elements, attracting fans to explore the real-life inspirations behind the anime.

Recommended Route:

[Kasukabe Station]
Located in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, this station serves as the main stage for Crayon Shin-chan. The interior and exterior are filled with elements related to the series, drawing many fans for photos.
Station Decoration and Atmosphere: The station signs feature images of Shin-chan, his family, and friends. Additionally, the station plays the Crayon Shin-chan theme song or melodies during train arrivals and departures.

[Kasukabe Information Centre] (Closed every Monday)
As the setting for the story, the centre has a dedicated area displaying replicas of manga manuscripts, tourist route maps, and related merchandise.

[Lala Garden 3F: Crayon Shin-chan Cinema Museum]
Located on the 3rd floor of Lala Garden Kasukabe, this themed attraction (officially called "Crayon Shin-chan Game Center Cinema Parade") displays various exhibits including animation production materials and life-sized character figures. There is also a souvenir shop selling a wide range of Shin-chan themed products such as plush toys, stationery, and apparel.

I. Reservation and Participation


• Schedule changes are not allowed after the reservation is confirmed. Any losses incurred due to changes shall be borne by the customer.

• Please provide accurate full name and contact information, and complete payment within the specified deadline.

• Please manage your valuables personally. We are not responsible for any loss or damage.

• Late arrival after departure, no-show without prior notice, or leaving the group midway will be considered a voluntary forfeiture, and no refund will be provided.


II. Participation Requirements


• Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian.

• Participants aged 70 or above are advised to assess their health condition and are recommended to be accompanied by a family member or friend aged 20 or above.

• Pregnant individuals, persons with heart conditions, hypertension, acrophobia, or other chronic illnesses are advised to refrain from participating in high-risk activities (e.g., skiing, water sports, etc.).

• The tour will be conducted in Chinese and Japanese. If other languages are required, please inquire in advance.

• If there are any changes in health condition after application, please notify us promptly.


III. Itinerary and Safety


• This is a group tour with shared transportation. Please follow the instructions of the guide/driver and strictly adhere to meeting times. No refund will be provided for any part of the itinerary missed due to lateness.

• The order of visits may be adjusted due to weather, traffic, events, etc., but no attractions will be omitted.

• Outdoor activities involve certain risks. Please participate according to your physical condition and follow on-site safety instructions.

• Safety and conduct during free time are the sole responsibility of the customer.

• Please maintain contactable status during the tour.

• Respect local laws, customs, and culture, and observe public etiquette.


VI. Insurance and Liability


• We strongly recommend that customers purchase travel accident insurance independently.

• Upon request, we can introduce partner insurance companies.

• We are only liable for damages caused by our own negligence. Damages resulting from natural disasters or other force majeure events are not covered.
