Depart from Sapporo for a breathtaking coastal day tour through Hokkaido. Begin with a relaxing stroll in Otaru, a charming port town known for its historic canal, stone warehouses, and nostalgic atmosphere. Continue to the spectacular Shakotan Peninsula and visit Cape Kamui and Shimamui Coast, two of Hokkaido’s most iconic seaside destinations. Tour Details

7:30-8:00 Departure from Sapporo
Meeting point: Pickup at hotel lobbies within 3 km of Sapporo Station; other guests meet at 07:45 at the group waiting area at Sapporo Station East Exit.
This day tour is a shared vehicle itinerary. All guests are required to arrive on time; no waiting for latecomers. Therefore, we recommend arriving at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before departure.
The pickup order and time will be arranged by the driver/guide based on distance and conditions. Please understand, cooperate, and follow the unified instructions of the driver/guide.
9:00 Otaru Canal (Approx. 90 minutes visit)
Otaru Canal, located in Otaru City, Hokkaido, is a symbol of Hokkaido’s romantic and nostalgic charm. Along the canal stand beautifully preserved stone warehouses from the Taisho era, many of which have been transformed into glass craft shops, restaurants, and boutique stores, creating a retro atmosphere full of character. During the day, visitors can stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the reflections of historic buildings on the sparkling water. At night, the glowing gas lamps and illuminated stone pathways create a magical and dreamlike scenery, making it one of the best places in Hokkaido for photography, walking, and experiencing the old port-town atmosphere.

Otaru Music Box Museum, located in Otaru City, Hokkaido, is a romantic destination filled with nostalgic charm. The main building, set inside a historic red-brick structure, showcases one of Japan’s largest collections of antique music boxes, handcrafted musical boxes, and elegant glass music boxes from around the world. Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations of a century-old automatic pipe organ and even create their own original music box in the workshop area. Outside the museum stands the famous steam clock, which releases steam and plays melodies every hour, making it a must-visit photo spot and a perfect place to experience Otaru’s warm and romantic atmosphere.

・LeTAO Main Store in Otaru
LeTAO is Hokkaido's most representative Western-style confectionery brand, founded in Otaru in 1998. Its main store, located at the Fairy Tale Crossing, is a striking European-style tower, a landmark of the area. The brand name is derived from the French "La Tour Amitié Otaru," meaning "Dear Otaru Tower." Their signature dish is the double-layered cheesecake, with an upper layer of Italian mascarpone cheese and a lower layer of Hokkaido cream cheese, offering a light and fluffy texture. The first floor sells a wide variety of souvenirs, while the second floor houses a retro café where you can enjoy freshly made limited-edition desserts and specialty black teas. Don't forget to climb to the rooftop observation deck for free panoramic views of Otaru Harbor and the nostalgic streetscape; on a clear day, you can even see the mountains and the sea.
12:00 Shakotan Town (Lunch Time Approx. 60 minutes)
Shakotan Peninsula, located on the western coast of Hokkaido, is famous for its breathtaking coastal scenery known as “Shakotan Blue.” The peninsula features dramatic cliffs and exceptionally clear seawater that shines in vivid layers of deep blue under sunlight, creating one of Hokkaido’s most spectacular ocean landscapes. Visitors can explore scenic spots such as Cape Kamui, where walking trails offer panoramic views of the rugged coastline and the pristine Sea of Japan.

The area is also renowned for its fresh local seafood, especially sea urchin and octopus. During the summer season, Shakotan sea urchin bowls are considered one of Hokkaido’s finest delicacies. Whether enjoying the scenery, photography, or seafood cuisine, Shakotan Peninsula is an ideal destination to experience the untouched natural beauty and maritime charm of Hokkaido.

13:30 Cape Kamui(Approx. 60 minutes)
Cape Kamui, located on the northwestern side of the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido, is one of the most famous viewpoints of the stunning “Shakotan Blue” sea. From the parking area, visitors can walk along a scenic trail for about 20 minutes to reach the tip of the cape. Along the way, breathtaking views of crystal-clear blue water and dramatic cliffs create one of Hokkaido’s most spectacular coastal landscapes.

At the end of the cape stands the Cape Kamui Lighthouse, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Sea of Japan and the surrounding coastline on clear days. It is a must-visit destination for photography lovers and anyone wishing to experience the grandeur of Hokkaido’s natural beauty.

• The entrance trail may be closed during strong winds for safety reasons.
• In case of bad weather, the itinerary may be adjusted to “Shimamui Coast + Bikuni photo stop.
14:50 Shimamui Coast (Approx. 40 minutes visit)
Shimamui Coast, located on the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido, is one of Japan’s “Top 100 Shores” and is famous for its crystal-clear “Shakotan Blue” waters. After walking through a short tunnel, visitors are greeted by a breathtaking panoramic view of the Sea of Japan, dramatic cliffs, and rugged rock formations. On sunny summer days, the ocean shines in deep sapphire blue, making it one of Hokkaido’s most scenic coastal photo spots.
15:30 Return trip to Sapporo
approx. 2.5-hour return
Arrival in Sapporo around 18:00. Tour ends at Sapporo Station or drop-off service to hotels in Sapporo city area is available.

As this is a day tour, bringing luggage is not recommended.

• Schedule changes are not allowed after the reservation is confirmed. Any losses incurred due to changes shall be borne by the customer.

• Please manage your valuables personally. We are not responsible for any loss or damage.

• Late arrival after departure, no-show without prior notice, or leaving the group midway will be considered a voluntary forfeiture, and no refund will be provided.


II. Participation Requirements


• Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian.

• Participants aged 70 or above are advised to assess their health condition and are recommended to be accompanied by a family member or friend aged 20 or above.

• Pregnant individuals, persons with heart conditions, hypertension, acrophobia, or other chronic illnesses are advised to refrain from participating in high-risk activities (e.g., skiing, water sports, etc.).

• The tour will be conducted in Chinese and Japanese. If other languages are required, please inquire in advance.

• If there are any changes in health condition after application, please notify us promptly.


III. Itinerary and Safety


• This is a group tour with shared transportation. Please follow the instructions of the guide/driver and strictly adhere to meeting times. No refund will be provided for any part of the itinerary missed due to lateness.

• The order of visits may be adjusted due to weather, traffic, events, etc., but no attractions will be omitted.

• Outdoor activities involve certain risks. Please participate according to your physical condition and follow on-site safety instructions.

• Safety and conduct during free time are the sole responsibility of the customer.

V. Other Important Notes


• Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended.

• Meal contents vary by product. Please inform us in advance of any allergies or religious dietary restrictions.

• Shopping decisions are at your discretion. Be sure to obtain receipts.

• Please maintain contactable status during the tour.

• Respect local laws, customs, and culture, and observe public etiquette.


VI. Insurance and Liability


• We strongly recommend that customers purchase travel accident insurance independently.

• Upon request, we can introduce partner insurance companies.

• We are only liable for damages caused by our own negligence. Damages resulting from natural disasters or other force majeure events are not covered.
